As we welcome the start of spring and the energy it brings, we wanted to let you know about our Earth Day-related initiatives and remind you of the many resources and services the Department offers to support your organization’s voter outreach efforts.

Throughout the month of April, in celebration of Earth Day 2025 on April 22nd, Department staff will be promoting our Go Paperless! Go Green! campaign on social media and at community events throughout the City. The campaign encourages voters to save trees and costs by opting out of the paper version of the Voter Information Pamphlet (VIP) and reading it online instead. We will be hosting resource tables at the Yerba Buena Gardens Earth Day Festival and USF Earth Day to promote our Go Paperless! Go Green! campaign and provide voter registration assistance to interested residents. If your organization is planning any Earth Day events, our multilingual outreach team would be happy to join you and help encourage residents to Go Green! Click here to download and share copies of our Go Paperless! Go Green! Flyer.

When planning voter outreach events, be sure to check out our Voter Outreach webpage. This page serves as a one-stop resource for organizations working to keep their communities informed and engaged in the electoral process. Our Voter Outreach webpage includes:

  • Voter Education Materials – Flyers, posters, and presentations to share election and voting-related information

  • Event and Materials Request Forms – To request voter education materials, schedule presentations, or invite election staff to join your events

  • Community Newsletter – New monthly publication featuring election updates, upcoming outreach programs and initiatives, and opportunities for collaboration

We also encourage you to check out the new Voting Made Simple Presentation on our Voter Outreach webpage. Designed to help de-mystify the voting process, this ten minute audiovisual presentation provides a brief, easy to understand summary of voting in San Francisco, including information on registration eligibility requirements, voting options, ranked choice voting, non-citizen voting, and accessible resources. Please feel free to use the new Voting Made Simple presentation along with our other audiovisual presentations and printed educational materials to help educate residents about their rights and responsibilities as voters. All outreach presentations and materials are available in EN, CH, SP, and FI.

Thank you again for your partnership and all you do to serve the community. Please feel free to reach out anytime if there is anything we can do to help support your efforts to engage and educate San Francisco voters.
