Feb 12 - Weekly Update
General Updates
Acting Director of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission to join the MegaBlack meeting on Thursday 2/13
SF Human Rights Commission Budget presentation on Thursday 2/13, 5pm at City Hall, Room 416
Mayor Lurie Announced a new RFP for Dream Keeper (to be rebranded) no later than 3/21
A new RFP is not a release of the frozen funds - it is a new process
The process to issue a new RFP will take 2 - 4 months before a new contract is signed (probably longer)
There will be essentially 3 years of unspent DKI funds by the time the new RFP is rolled out - that is over $90M
There are some groups being given bridge funding based on meeting criteria outlined by the administration without a community process - although the Mayor says he has met with Black leaders to determine priorities.
The Mayor committed to funding for Opportunities for All and Black to San Francisco, but did not share how the funds that were cut from a Black-led organization will be reallocated to support the programs.
