Collective and Subcommittee Updates

We will be hosting subcommittee in-person meetings in March. Please complete the subcommittee survey if you would like to support the one of the committees.

Education Subcommittee met on Tuesday February 18
The meeting was less than 30 minutes. There is another meeting scheduled for Tuesday February 25, 12pm. Meeting link

The subcommittee identified a few projects to support and cultivate:

  • HBCU collaboration and activations for HBCU students. More information to come.

  • MegaBlack Saturday School. The goal is to host a series of Saturday School sessions during the summer and hopefully launch in the Spring of 2025. The committee is looking at dates and plans to review in the next meeting.

  • Assemble summer reading kits and host workshops in partnership with BMO Magic and University of San Francisco students working on the Everybody Reads project. Potential dates will be shared at the next meeting.

  • Share a summer resource of activities and opportunities for youth and their families.
